Autodesk 2006 Retirement & Legacy Promotion starts today - Ends 3/13/09

Well, it's your favorite time of year. Autodesk is whacking another version off the map. This year it's 2006.
As most of you know and love, every year Autodesk retires a version of their software from 3 years prior.

With almost 80 products in their lineup, can you blame them? Of course you do (if you're an AutoCAD user).
Autodesk just retired the 2005 product line March 15, 2008 and they're giving you until March 13, 2009 to upgrade or crossgrade before Legacy pricing begins and it's a lot more so you'll want to upgrade if possible.

What does all this mean?
Autodesk will stop selling upgrades and crossgrades from AutoCAD 2006‐based products after
March 13, 2009. That means upgrade pricing will no longer be available and Autodesk will no
longer provide technical support, except for existing maintenance patches that are downloadable
from www.autodesk.com. But don't worry, there's still an opportunity to move to the latest
Autodesk software release, even after the retirement date. The Autodesk Legacy Program gives
customers who own valid licenses of select retired Autodesk software the opportunity to
purchase specially discounted licenses of current Autodesk products. (AutoCAD LT software is not
eligible for the Autodesk Legacy Program.)

The Autodesk 2006 Retirement Promotion is a multi‐phase program for customers using AutoCAD
2006 and Autodesk 2006‐based products who want to move to the latest Autodesk software
release. Following is an outline of the promotional offer:
