Autodesk Design Review Tips and Tech Support Update

Did you know that Design Review is free? You can redline DWFs and bring them back into AutoCAD or Revit. You can publish your drawings as DWFs and your clients can use Design Review as a free viewer. Then there's Project Freewheel where you can publish your DWFs online for others to review.

Basically, you can't go wrong with free and I won't even mention the Adapx pen that you can redline physical blueprints and have the markups available in Design Review.

If you haven't downloaded and used Design Review, your killing the planet. It's a great way to not have to print as much and it's much better than PDFs.

Some of you may have attempted to start Autodesk Design Review 2010 and saw Microsoft Internet Explorer Script errors, which included text similar to this one:

ClassFactory cannot supply requested class
Code 0

We believe that this problem is caused by previous versions of Autodesk Design Review or Autodesk DWF Viewer that are still installed on the system.

To resolve the problem, please follow these steps:

  • Uninstall all versions of Autodesk Design Review and Autodesk DWF Viewer via the Windows control panel under "Add Remove Software".
  • In Windows Explorer, delete the following folders if they do exist:
    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk DWF Viewer
    C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Autodesk Design Review
  • Reboot your machine
  • Reinstall Autodesk Design Review 2010

Please let us know should this not resolve this particular issue for you.

Thank you.
