New York State to Develop Green Building Guidelines | GreenerBuildings.com

Oh, it is so over now. ♫♫♫♫ Start spreading the LEED ♫♫♫♫

♫These little town greens, are melting away (global warming?)
♫I'm gonna make a brand new start of it - in old new york
♫And if I can build it there, I'm gonna build it anywhere

♫It up to you - new york new york

What more can I say. No more CAD for New York. Your'e going to need some serious energy calculation software. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ecotect, Green Building Studio and IES. My company is the New York Autodesk government reseller. Anyone working on government projects gets special pricing on software for these projects. Any help you need for software, training, implementation, coordination or just want to figure out how the heck you're going to implement BIM and LEED, my phone number is at the top of the website, so call me anytime.

I'm just so happy right now. There's business out there for all of us and it's for the sophisticated designer and engineer who are taking advantage of these technologies who are really going to get the gold from green.

ALBANY, NY — New York has joined the growing ranks of state and local governments in the U.S. to require that new state buildings and major renovations of existing structures conform to green building principles.

New York Governor David A. Paterson’s recent signature on the State Green Building Construction Act means that as of August 27, 2010, construction of new state buildings and overhauls of existing ones must meet the as-yet-to-be established guidelines.

Under the new law, the New York State Office of General Services is to develop and implement the standards.

Paterson signed an earlier version of the act last year. It was amended to shift the responsibility for the standard to an agency that has the authority and the resources to carry out the plan.
