Revit Architecture 2011 New Tools: Modeless Properties Palette - The Revit Clinic

I was working on a project today in Revit Architecture 2011. I hate to say this, but it was amazing. It was so fast. Having the properties palette open all the time made it so easy to use Revit. Making changes to wall types, sizes and materials was a breeze.

Also, working with the new and improved ribbon was sweet. It wasn't schizophrenic. Everything was exactly where it was supposed to be on each ribbon.

The only reason I hate to tell you all of this because I know you want it now. That need for instant gratification is so intense. Just a few more days (or maybe weeks), who knows....

Revit 2011 products introduce a modeless Properties Palette which can be moved to a user defined location [including a second monitor].

The palette contains the type selector, instance properties, properties filter [to filter multiple object type selections] and the shortcut to the type properties dialog:

When no objects are selected, by default the view instance properties or sheet properties will automatically be active.

You can choose to close the properties palette as well. If closed you can access the properties after selecting an object > Modify Properties or Type Properties.
