BIM Objects versus BIM Objects

Do you discuss content?  Do you make the families in your firm?

Are you content with your content?
Who object about your objects?
Is it BIM for bidders or BIM forbidders?
Do you object to BIM or do you BIM to object?

I walked into one of our training rooms today where a Navisworks Manage class was going on.  On the screen were the letters TMA.  I asked what that meant, and Mark said, Too Many Acronyms.  I guess that's one for the Department of Redundancy Department.

What's my point with all of this?  Well, just that there's so many new things to learn.  There are 5 different definitions of what 6D is.  Everyone is still so caught up in getting from 2D to 3D.  Of course the sophisticated members of the BIM world, know how much easier the overall process is with 3D and BIM when used with an actual product like Revit.  It's all about the eye in BIM.  You can see it all.

Autodesk announced higher earnings today and things are definitely picking up.  Can you feel the excitement of the recession about to end?  When it does, are you going to continue to use a 2D product or will you migrate to the real world of designing buildings?

I invented a new phrase yesterday.  I was talking to someone who said they wanted to go back to school and get their MBA.  I said, just read my blog and you'll get an MBA in BIM.  Well, that quickly morphed into a BIMBA.    After that comes a PhDDD, yup a doctorate in 3D.  Can you imagine being a Doctor of BIM?  You could surgically dissect your models and find all of the clashes.

What do you get when you draw a line, circle and an arc?  0-(  Looks like a CADclops.
