3ds Max Services & Support - Scaling issues with RPC and other 3d data transferred from Revit into 3ds Max.

Issue

You may encounter scaling issues with RPC and other 3d data transferred from Revit into 3ds Max:

After importing a Revit FBX file into 3ds max, scene items may appear bigger than their original size in Revit.

Solution

For best results you should change the System Unit Setup to Feet in 3ds Max before importing a Revit FBX. The same should be done in Revit.

Revit calculates system units in Imperial units (Feet and fractional inches).

Important:
When transferring data between various software, verify that all updates are done for all programs involved in the data transfer. Example: latest updates for Civil 3d, Revit, 3ds Max.

Often times, just updating one program is not enough. Users should apply latest updates to all programs involved in creation, export and import of 3d data.
