How to choose the correct Host ID to activate your Autodesk software network license in Windows(c)

When activating your Autodesk software network license, you are asked for a Host ID. On the server, you look it up and discover more than one and are not sure which to use to activate your software.

To activate your network license, you will need to use the Host ID that corresponds to the physical connection to the network (not wireless). In some cases, the server on which your software is loaded has more than one adapter to support the physical network, and may also have adapters that support Virtual Private Networks (VPN), Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP), or modems.
To determine which adapters support the physical network, review the descriptions that appear in the header of each. Use the Host ID associated with “Ethernet Adapter Local Area Connection”.
