Too much technology? A scripted Revit & BIM moment

I just saw a commercial on TV.  I shouldn't have actually watched the commercial because it's an episode of House previously recorded on the DVR.  If only the remote was within reach.  I could have opened up my Sling player on my iPad, but that would have been too easy.

Anyway, where was I going with this.  Oh yeah, the commercial on television.  Now, I'm thinking about the word television.  Where did that word come from?  Now I have to go and google the origin of the word television.

OK, I'm back.  Wikipedia says the following:
The etymology of the word is derived from mixed Latin and Greek origin, meaning "far sight": Greek tele (τῆλε), far, and Latin visio, sight (from video, vis- to see, or to view in the first person.

I'm glad I know now that.  Do we have teleBIMvision.  Far sighted BIM sight?  How about TeleBIMision.

Damn. I keep getting distracted.  Hold on.  House is back on......OK, more commercials.

Here's what they said in the AT&T commercial:
Only the Apple iPhone 4G lets you talk and surf at the same time.

They say that is if that's a good thing.  No one you talk to is worthy of your full attention.  Do you suffer from TDD, Technology Distraction Disorder. Do you find yourself constantly checking the Autodesk website looking to see if Revit Architecture 2012 is available for download?

I actualy wrote a web scripting macro today to save me the time of manually checking to see if Revit is available on Autodesk.com/Revit or the subscription portal.  Yes, I have way too much free time on my hands, especially after using my programming skills to automate my life and being more efficient.

I'm really glad I don't have an iPhone 4G on AT&T. I don't know what I'd do if I had the ability to talk and surf at the same time.

'iMacros Script written by Gregory Arkin / Revit3D.com just to help you be a little more efficient.  You can download iMacros plugin for your browser and copy this script into a new macro.
