If you can read this, thank a contractor.




I was at the doctor yesterday and this was on the wall.  Reminds me of how contractors have to read blueprints and figure out how to bid and build buildings from a big mess of lines.

I'm a spec writer, so your point really resonates with me. I have to read and understand the drawings as a part of writing the spec, so organization and consistency really matter to me.

This applies to the specs, too. The more closely we follow industry norms like CSI formats, the better (and the better understood) our contract documents will be.
