I'm so conflicted about this. What a great way to not have an excuse anymore to switch to Revit. Now Autodesk is practically giving away Revit. There goes the reseller channel. For so many years, listening to architects ask why they need full AutoCAD when they can get LT, now we take it another step further and give away a cheap version of Revit. Of course, anyone buying Revit LT, certainly won't pay for training, so there goes the architectural industry.
They should only allow firms who already have full licenses of Building Design Suite to be able to get extra copies of Revit LT for people who don't need the full Suite, but let's not let every architect who wants to be cheap to go this route. How can resellers stay in business when you can upgrade AutoCAD LT to Revit LT for half price and get it on the internet.
What a great idea and a horrible idea all wrapped into one box, not to be confused with Revit "One Box". Buy now and bye bye Autodesk, reseller channel and qualified BIM builders.
You know what, I even think with the price being this low, we still won't get architects to adopt Revit. Let's see how this pans out. I hope we're all on the same layer with this concept.

Would you rather spend more time designing and less time manually coordinating construction documentation?
Do most of your projects require you to simultaneously work in the same project file with others on your team?
Would using 3D models help you communicate your design intent to project stakeholders?
Do you require the ability to create high-quality 3D architectural renderings to express your designs and market your firm?
Design and Visualize in 3DDesign in 3D by working in Revit LT software’s model-based environment. At any stage of the design process, easily generate 3D orthographic or perspective views from any angle of the model to visualize the space. Create exploded axons and 3D details quickly and easily. A walk-through tool enables you to create animations based on a camera moving along a path, helping you visualize the building virtually, improve your understanding of the building and its spaces, and communicate design ideas to clients more clearly and effectively.
Create Photorealistic Renderings in the CloudWith Autodesk® Subscription you can render in the cloud directly from the interface.* Autodesk® 360 Rendering enables you to produce compelling, photorealistic visualizations without tying up your desktop. Select from an extensive library of predefined photorealistic materials and apply them to building elements to help display their appearance. Define sun settings and add artificial lighting with a photometric light source that utilizes real-world data.
Improve Documentation QualityAutodesk Revit LT automatically manages iterative changes to your building model throughout the documentation process. As a result, a consistent representation of the building is maintained, improving drawing coordination and helping reduce errors. Construction documents derived from the model are higher quality, helping reduce costs of changes and manual coordination. Invest more time in designing, knowing that your documentation is coordinated and up to date.
Automatically Generate SchedulesAutomate the creation of schedules of building components in order to drive data and improve the visibility of costs and quantities. Since schedules are generated directly from the model, they are always up to date and provide a comprehensive view of the Revit LT model. Changes to a schedule view are automatically reflected in all other views of the model, such as plans, sections, and elevations.
